Vision

The Bloomhouse Lane project is a proposed strategic, mixed use community located in Darton. Our aim is to create a desirable new community, delivering significant economic and social benefits to the area.

The proposed development is seeking to deliver 266 new homes at 2, 3, 4, and 5 bedrooms in size providing new homes to meet the housing needs of local people.

The development site relates to Barnsley Local Plan housing allocations Ref. HS11 and Ref. HS25. The two allocations have a combined capacity of 332 homes.

The development will be accessed from a new priority ‘T’ junction formed to the south-east of the Site on Station Road.

At the site’s entrance onto Station Road new off-street car parking spaces will be provided to benefit visitors/parents of Darton Primary School.

The development will deliver significant economic and social benefits to the area in the form of:

  • Construction Investment to the area.
  • Creation of direct & indirect employment opportunities.
  • A mix of homes to deliver identified housing needs.
  • Expenditure to local services and facilities from residents creating new jobs in the local leisure and retail sectors.
  • New Homes Bonus Payment from the Government.
  • New Council Tax Payments.
  • Social infrastructure investment to the area through S106 contributions.
